Sun Kissed Beauty
Saturday, 01 December 2007

ImageWinter is here.  But to me, that doesn't mean you need to resemble Morticia Addams to look appropriate for the season.  Personally, I love to look "sun-kissed" all year round.  That look represents health, vitality, energy and youth to me.   Although I have naturally tan skin, in the winter time I tend to get a bit "yellow" or pale.   Although I want this look I'm talking about, I find that bronzing powders are way too much and tend to look either too dirty or too strong.  I think this look is okay for the summer but during winter a less dramatic alternative would be using Cargo's BeachBlush in Coral Beach.

The rest of the products I used for this look and a larger version of my picture can be seen after the jump.

Salicylic Acid
Saturday, 17 November 2007

This ingredient is found in most anti-acne products in the market today - most commonly in a 2% concentration.  Salicylic Acid is a Beta Hydroxy. If used properly, this ingredient can help control excess oil and with internal and external exfoliation of the skin.  However, combining it with other treatments or abusing its use can cause negative reactions to the skin, like for instance excessive drying and irritation.

Being educated about your skin, what works and what doesn't is very important to maintaining your beauty.  So please make sure you always do in-depth research on what goes on your face!

TIP: Dry Nail Polish
Thursday, 15 November 2007
Courtesy of: Jupiter Images

Have some nail polish that seems to be dried up and lost its fluidity?  Do not throw it out!  Do not go out to buy a new one!  You can still save your nail polish with this simple trick:

Pour about half a cap of acetone/nail polish remover into your nail polish.  Tightly screw on the top and shake well.

After this, your nail polish will coat those nails with the same shine and finish as if it were brand new!

From Philosophy.com:

Most cleansers are formulated to foam, push around, and hopefully rinse away dirt and makeup. Purity Made Simple was formulated to actually emulsify and dissolve dirt, imbedded debris, and makeup rather than creating a lot of foam without a lot of clean. As winner of Allure magazines' reader's choice awards, Purity Made Simple one-step facial cleanser will leave your skin clean, toned and glowing.
