ImageCassandra and I first met when I was working as a freelancer for a line sold at the store she was working for at the time. She stood out from the rest of her co-workers because she came up to me on her own with her ever-so-sweet demeanor and introduced herself. Honestly, she's the only one I really remember interacting with during those times. Later on in the year, I became a part of the staff at her store and we established a great friendship. From getting to know her on both a professional and personal level, I can tell ya'll right now this girl is going places. Her skill and talent at make-up artistry along with her fun and super friendly personality will take her far in this industry.

I asked Cassie some questions so you can get to know her better. You'll probably see her around the site leaving her reviews here and there :) Also, check out some of the pictures of her work she kindly sent for your viewing pleasure. Ways to contact her are at the end of this article : )

Let's get on with these questions!

What school did you go to for makeup?
I attented Make-up Designory also known as M.U.D. in NYC.

Do you think going to school for make-up is important to excel in the business later on?
Going to a makeup school i felt for me was very helpful!...I got to learn different styles of make up applications, I built alot of confidence when it came to makeup applications, definetly developed greater makeup skills, and also learned alot about the business itself which was a great tool for me...some people say its not neccessary to go to makeup school because if you have the skill you have it but when it comes to the business part and knowing about the industry and how it works its a definite plus...to excel as a makeup artist you need to know the industry, be confident , have skill, and be on a constant hustle! make connections!...

When did you know that you wanted to be a make-up artist and why?
Well I was always big on art through out school...when i was about 15 i had attended a modeling school which including a very basic makeup class...and after that i started to develop a love for doing makeup on others and my self, thats when i knew i wanted to be a makeup artist!...

What is your favorite thing about your job?
The favorite thing about my job is being able to meet/work with so many different people, learn at the same time...and doing makeup of course..lol

What's your favorite mascara?

If you had to choose to do only ONE thing to your face before going out, what would it be?
MASCARA! and yes that my final answer...i love lashes !

What are 5 products in your make-up bag right now?
lets see! ...Select moisturecover MAc concealer, Plush lash MAC mascara, love nectar mac lip gloss, NArs LAguna/orgasm blush/bronzer, and of course urban decays 24/7 eyeliner in Zero

What is your favorite MAC product?
aw mann my favorite mac product would have to be! Fix plus ... its great to spritz after you've down your makeup it sets makeup and its gives the face a healthy looking glow...now who wouldnt want their skin to look healthy?!

What's your advice for aspiring make-up artists that don't know where to start?
For the Newbies just get out there its all about TRIAL and Error thats how you learn...do test shoots with your friends then move up and start testing with photographers, make connections/network, hand out ya business cards...learn about the industry do ya homework! get inspired!

Where do you see yourself in a few years?
hmm?...im still growing as a makeup artist and i definetly see myself in a couple of years growing with cosmetic company and making a name for myself ,running my own business in cosmetics and hopefully further down the line haveing my own makeup line!
